The men all seemed to be valiant warriors, mostly dressed in leather and fur, and each held a huge wooden spear, the dull end of which was pushed into the soft earth. The women were nude but for their various jeweled adornments and completely unashamed. Many of the women proudly and elegantly rode the shoulders of their manfolk, their arms carefully held wrist to elbow.
