The weather was perfect for the beach this morning, partly sunny, warm, not too humid, and with a light breeze blowing onshore. Normally this late in the season, things tended to be either too cold, or too cloudy to go to the beach, which meant that most people would have made other plans for the day. So, unlike earlier in the summer, there was actually space to spread out a blanket and not overlap with someone else. That did not mean that the beach was empty. In fact there were quite a few families and older teens present. Not far down the beach, a family was trying to build a sandcastle. Unfortunately for them, the daughter was an obvious ditz and clumsy to boot. How do you fail to notice that you had just made a tower on top of one of your own pigtails?
